About
The purpose of the WSCC Archives is to gather, organize, make accessible, and preserve any items that chronicle the history or administration of the College.
This effort grew out of the College's 50th anniversary, a time when many organizations reflect on their past, remind others how far they have come, and focus their efforts on cataloging and preserving their rich history.
Part of the drive for the archives was the commission of a book to commemorate WSCC's 50 years, a project which necessitated documents, pictures, and other material that would inform the writing of the book. The staff of the William M. Anderson Library scanned thousands of pages, slides, negatives, and photos. They enlisted the help of retired faculty and staff to identify people and dates, brought all of the information together, and created both a physical and digital record of the history of WSCC.
As with many projects, the archives are a work-in-progress that will continue to grow as the College does. The William M. Anderson Library welcomes new additions to the collection and will assist in the use of the archives by faculty, staff, students, and community members.
